Terms & Conditions
Welcome to Oh Doggo Grooming. These terms and conditions outline the rules and regulations for the use of our services. By accessing this website and booking our services, we assume you accept these terms and conditions in full.
01
Appointments, Cancellations and Payments
Appointments
All appointments are arranged directly through Oh Doggo Grooming and are subject to availability.
Grooming times are allocated according to your dog's breed, size, coat condition, temperament and individual requirements.
Please arrive at your agreed appointment time and arrange collection when advised that your dog is ready.
Arrivals more than 15 minutes late may result in an appointment being rescheduled or cancelled where there is insufficient time to complete the groom safely.
Cancellation policy
As a one-to-one salon, each appointment is reserved exclusively for your dog. Late cancellations can leave appointment times that I am unable to offer to another client.
I therefore ask for a minimum of 48 hours' notice when cancelling or rearranging an appointment.
The following charges may apply:
-
48 hours' notice or more: No cancellation charge.
-
Less than 48 hours' notice: A charge of up to 50% of the agreed grooming price.
-
Less than 24 hours' notice or failure to attend: A charge of up to 100% of the agreed grooming price.
These percentages are maximum charges, not automatic penalties. Any charge will be limited to a fair and reasonable amount reflecting the direct loss caused by the cancellation, taking into account any costs saved or replacement appointment secured.
Circumstances will be considered individually, and any applicable statutory cancellation rights remain unaffected.
Pricing and payment
Prices are based on the grooming time, coat condition and individual needs of each dog.
Additional charges may apply where extra grooming time or work is required. These will be discussed with you wherever reasonably possible before proceeding.
Payment is due at the end of the appointment unless otherwise agreed. Any deposits or advance payments will be clearly explained when booking and accounted for in the final balance or any applicable cancellation charge.
02
Health, Wellbeing & Behaviour
Your dog's welfare will always take priority over completing a particular groom or achieving a specific style.
Health and medical information
Owners must provide accurate and up-to-date information about their dog's health, including any relevant:
-
Medical conditions, injuries or mobility difficulties.
-
Medication, allergies or skin sensitivities.
-
History of seizures or other significant health concerns.
-
Recent illness, veterinary treatment or surgery.
-
Pregnancy or other circumstances that could affect grooming.
Please inform me of any changes before each appointment.
Dogs displaying signs of infectious illness, parasites or conditions that could make grooming unsafe may need to have their appointment postponed.
Behaviour and handling
Please disclose any previous difficulties with grooming, including anxiety, aggression, biting, sensitivity to handling or intolerance of particular equipment.
I will make reasonable adjustments to support your dog's individual needs wherever possible.
If your dog becomes excessively distressed, uncomfortable or unsafe to handle, I may pause, adapt or discontinue the groom.
A shorter or incomplete groom may sometimes be the most appropriate outcome for your dog's wellbeing.
03
Coat Condition, Matting and Grooming Expectations
Regular coat maintenance is important for your dog's comfort and health.
Matting
Severely matted coats can cause discomfort, restrict movement and conceal skin conditions.
Oh Doggo Grooming will not undertake prolonged or painful dematting where it would compromise a dog's welfare.
If matting is present, a shorter clip may be necessary to remove the affected coat safely.
Where possible, the recommended approach will be discussed with you before grooming begins.
Removing tightly matted coat can reveal pre-existing irritation, sores, bruising or other skin problems. Any concerns noticed will be communicated to you, and veterinary advice may be recommended.
Grooming results
I will always aim to achieve a style that suits your preferences, provided it is appropriate for your dog's coat, health and tolerance.
The final result may differ from the requested style if changes are necessary for the dog's safety or comfort.
Additional time required because of coat condition or handling needs may affect the agreed price. Any proposed increase will be discussed wherever reasonably possible.
04
Veterinary Care & Emergencies
Although every reasonable precaution is taken, unexpected illness or an emergency can arise during grooming.
Owners are required to provide their dog's veterinary practice details and an additional emergency contact.
If a dog becomes unwell or requires urgent attention, I will make reasonable efforts to contact you as soon as possible.
Where immediate veterinary attention is necessary and you cannot be reached, I may seek veterinary assistance in accordance with the emergency authority provided in your separately signed Grooming Agreement.
Veterinary costs will be considered according to the circumstances and applicable legal responsibilities. Owners will ordinarily remain responsible for treatment associated with pre-existing conditions or matters for which Oh Doggo Grooming is not legally responsible.
Oh Doggo Grooming remains responsible for any loss or injury for which it is legally liable, including a failure to exercise reasonable care and skill.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or restricts rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
05
Salon Safety, Drop Off & Collection
Oh Doggo Grooming operates on a one-to-one basis, with appointments carefully scheduled to provide a calm, controlled environment.
Arrival and collection
-
Dogs must arrive at their agreed appointment time.
-
Dogs must be safely secured when entering and leaving the premises.
-
Owners must remain contactable throughout the appointment.
-
Dogs must be collected promptly at the agreed or communicated collection time.
-
Dogs cannot be left at the salon outside their scheduled appointment without prior agreement.
During grooming
All dogs are handled according to their individual needs, taking into consideration their temperament, physical abilities and comfort.
Grooming may be adapted or stopped where continuing would present an unreasonable risk to the dog or groomer.
If an appointment ends early, any amount payable will be assessed fairly based on the service provided, the circumstances and applicable consumer rights.
07
Statutory Rights & Legal Information
Oh Doggo Grooming aims to provide an inclusive, welcoming and safe environment for dogs and their owners.
However, I may reasonably decline, postpone or discontinue an appointment where the service cannot be provided safely or appropriately.
This may include:
-
Lateness of more than 15 minutes where the remaining appointment time is insufficient.
-
Illness, injury or health concerns that make grooming unsuitable.
-
Pregnancy where grooming presents an identified welfare concern.
-
Behaviour that presents a significant risk to the dog or groomer.
-
Repeated late cancellations or missed appointments.
-
Failure to disclose information that materially affects safe grooming.
Each situation will be assessed individually, with reasonable adjustments considered where appropriate.
Your responsibilities
By arranging an appointment, you agree to:
-
Provide accurate and relevant information about your dog.
-
Notify me of changes to your dog's health or behaviour.
-
Follow the agreed drop-off and collection arrangements.
-
Ensure your dog is safely controlled on arrival and departure.
-
Treat the salon and its facilities with respect.
-
Read and accept the applicable booking and grooming terms.
Photographs and privacy
Photographs may be taken for grooming records and marketing purposes. Separate permission will be requested where required before photographs are used for promotional purposes.
Personal information is handled in accordance with the Oh Doggo Grooming Privacy Policy.
Grooming Agreement
Before your dog's first appointment, you will be asked to complete a separate Grooming Agreement confirming your acceptance of the relevant terms and providing any necessary emergency authorisations.
Changes to these Terms & Conditions will be communicated where they materially affect an existing booking. Revised terms will not automatically replace those already agreed for an existing appointment.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory consumer rights.
